A static-first, eight-language website for Talon Studios, a commercial photography, film and spatial media studio - built around the studio's own intro film, with localized routes and a structured inquiry pipeline.
Talon Studios creates commercial photography, film and spatial media for properties, hospitality, brands and businesses across Europe and the United States.
A studio is judged on its visuals before anything else, and its clients are international. The website had to put the work in front of every visitor immediately, in their own language.
Localizing a media-led site usually goes wrong in one of two ways: text baked into video that cannot be translated, or translated pages that drift apart until nobody knows which page is authoritative. Talon Studios needed eight language versions that stayed structurally identical and individually indexable.
Let the studio's own intro film carry the first impression, with the headline, supporting copy and calls to action kept as live HTML over it, so every locale gets the same cinematic opening with correctly translated text.
Treat each page as one stable record with locale projections, rather than eight separate websites. Language switching resolves the equivalent page by stable ID instead of guessing URLs.
English at the root with German, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Ukrainian versions on their own localized routes. Nine dedicated service pages, industry pages, capabilities, coverage, about and contact, each available in every locale.
A dark, cinematic system with a gold accent drawn from the Talon mark, generous full-bleed media and restrained typography, adapted from a licensed visual system into the studio's own components.
Built with Astro as a static-first site. Localized titles, descriptions, canonical URLs, hreflang with x-default, structured data and sitemap output are generated from the content manifest, which is machine-validated before build.
Staging builds are noindex by default and production indexing requires an explicit environment flag, so a preview can never compete with the live site in search.
Every locale is independently indexable with correct hreflang relationships, so searchers in each market can land on a page in their own language instead of an English page with a translate button.

The inquiry form captures locale, source page, referrer, campaign parameters and consent, with a honeypot and per-submission idempotency key.

On phones the film remains the backdrop, the headline reflows into a tall stacked composition and the two primary actions become full-width, keeping the cinematic first impression without sacrificing legibility.
