Strategy before surface design

A redesign that starts in a design tool usually ends with a better-looking form of the same structural problems. We start with what the site has to do: which buyers arrive, what they need to understand, what they need to believe and what action the business needs them to take.

That work produces the information architecture, content model and conversion paths first. Visual design then expresses the brand inside a structure that already works, which is why the result tends to survive contact with real visitors, real content and real search behavior.

What a Colorbull build includes

  1. Information architecture

Page hierarchy, navigation, URL structure and internal linking designed around how buyers actually research and decide.

  2. Brand expression

A visual system with a point of view, typography, composition, motion and media direction, rather than a lightly customized theme.

  3. Conversion paths

Clear routes from interest to inquiry, with forms and CTAs placed where the decision is being made, not only at the bottom of the page.

  4. Mobile-first without mobile sameness

Layouts recomposed for small screens with the same art direction, not desktop sections collapsed into a generic stack.

  5. Performance and accessibility

Static-first rendering, optimized media, minimal client JavaScript, keyboard support, visible focus and reduced-motion behavior.

  6. Integrations

CRM, scheduling, booking, commerce and inquiry routing connected deliberately, with failure states that are visible rather than silent.

  7. Content and search architecture

Templates, metadata, structured data and page types built so the site can grow its search footprint without being rebuilt.

  8. Migration and redirects

Existing URLs inventoried and mapped so hard-won search equity and inbound links survive the change of platform.

  9. Launch verification

Pre-launch and post-launch checks for indexation, redirects, forms, analytics, performance and accessibility.

  10. Managed operation after launch

The same team that built the property operates it, so launch is the start of the relationship, not the end of the project.

How a custom build runs

Every engagement moves through the same governed phases, sized to the complexity of the property. The phases exist so that decisions are made in the right order and nothing important is left to the final week.

  • Assessment, the current property, analytics, search footprint, content and constraints
  • Architecture, sitemap, content model, page types, conversion paths and migration map
  • Design, visual system and key templates, validated as working prototypes
  • Engineering, component build, integrations, content population and QA
  • Launch, redirects, indexation checks, measurement verification and monitoring
  • Operate, the managed relationship begins the day the site goes live

UX and digital product design

Some properties are closer to products than brochures: logged-in areas, configurators, quoting flows, resource libraries or complex service navigation. We design those as product experiences, user journeys, states, edge cases and error handling included, and build them with the same engineering standards as the rest of the site.

Integrations and technical architecture

Architecture decisions are made against the requirements, not our preferences. Static-first rendering is our default for marketing and content properties because it is fast, secure and inexpensive to operate. Where a property needs server-side logic, authenticated areas or live data, we design the boundary explicitly and document it.

Every integration gets a defined owner, a monitored failure mode and a way to verify it still works after each release.

Redesign, rebuild or both

A redesign changes how the site looks and reads. A rebuild changes what it runs on and how it is structured. Many projects need both; some need only one. The assessment establishes which, based on the condition of the platform, the content and the search footprint, not on what is easier to sell.

The operating model

Two ways to engage

Standard-envelope sites are delivered as Managed Websites, with implementation from $3,500 and a $500/month operating base. Bespoke, complex or high-value properties are delivered through a Strategic Digital Partnership, with implementation from $20,000 and a strategic operating base from $2,500/month.

Buyer questions

Do you use templates?

We use a standardized production system, components, pipelines and quality checks, so that engineering effort goes into what is distinctive about your business. Visual design is not a purchased theme with your logo on it.

Which platform will the site run on?

The one the requirements justify. For most marketing and content properties that is a static-first architecture with a governed content workflow, because it is fast, secure and inexpensive to operate. If you need a specific CMS for editorial reasons, we will say what that costs in performance and maintenance and design around it.

Will we lose our search rankings?

Migrations carry risk, and anyone who says otherwise has not done many. We reduce it by inventorying existing URLs, mapping redirects, preserving content that earns traffic, and verifying indexation after launch. Our guide on SEO during a redesign explains the process in detail.

  1. How much should a professional website cost?

What drives the price, what each level of investment buys, and why the build is only half of the cost that matters.

  2. Website redesign vs rebuild | what should you actually pay for?

A new look and a new foundation are different projects with different costs. Here is how to tell which one you need.

  3. How should SEO be handled during a website redesign?

Redesigns are one of the most common ways businesses lose search visibility. Most of the losses are avoidable.
